Schneider Altivar Process Modular

What is APM VFD?

A Schneider APM VFD is a type of industrial Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), specifically in the Altivar Process Modular (APM) family. It’s designed to control the speed and torque of AC motors in large industrial applications by varying the electrical frequency and voltage supplied to the motor.

  • Standard VFDs
  • Low Harmonic VFDs
  • Liquid Cooled VFDs
  • Reduced Height VFDs
  • Braking options for Standard and Low Harmonic Drives

Capabilities

  • 125-1200 HP Drives 480V / 600V / 690V
  • Combine up to six modules in parallel to reach your desired power level. - (Up to 5 to stay UL Listed)
  • Standard VFD - 6 Pulse VFD (THDi 40%) with Embedded Line Choke technology, integrated dv/dt filter, common mode noise filter, voltage peak reduce
  • Low Harmonic / Regen VFD - The 3-Level AFE architecture reaching a total THDi of less than 5% w/ same filters of standard VFD
  • Delivering custom-engineered VFD solutions in Type 1, 12, 3R, and 4X enclosures - designed for durability, precision, and performance. Our rapid turnaround times can't be matched, ensuring you get reliable power control when you need it most.

Which system is right for my application?

Choosing the right drive system for your application can make all the difference in performance, reliability, and long-term maintenance costs. At Industrial Automation & Communication Systems, we understand that every environment has unique demands — from harsh field conditions to critical process applications. That’s why we offer modular Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) solutions that are designed for flexibility and serviceability.

Modular drives give you the ability to replace individual components rather than swapping an entire unit, which significantly reduces downtime and lowers maintenance costs. If a power module, control card, or communication interface needs service, our technicians can quickly isolate and replace only the affected section — getting your system back online faster.

Let our experienced professionals evaluate your needs and help you select the best drive system for your operation. Whether you’re optimizing existing equipment or planning a new installation, we’ll guide you toward a solution that provides reliable performance, easy serviceability, and the lowest total cost of ownership.
